Which phones work?
iPhone 12 or later with iOS 27, and Android 14 or later phones that support Wi-Fi Aware pairing. In Rideband, Settings → Diagnostics shows whether your phone supports Wi-Fi Aware.
How do I pair with a friend?
Stand next to each other. One opens Friends → Pair a friend → “I’ll show the code”, the other “I’ll enter my friend’s code” and types the 6 digits. Check that both phones show the same safety code. You only do this once.
How do group rides work?
One rider creates a group in Friends → Create group and shows the QR code; the others scan it or type the code. Up to 6 riders, everyone hears everyone, and each phone relays the voice to the next.
With iPhones in the group, Apple requires a one-time PIN pairing between each iPhone and the other phones: do it while you are together. Between Android phones the code is enough.
How far does it reach?
It depends on phones, terrain and where you keep the phone: as a rule of thumb 50–150 m between two motorcycles, more in the open and with the phone on the handlebar or in the tank bag. In a group the range adds up along the column. On Android, Settings → Extended range (2.4 GHz) can reach further.
Does it use a lot of battery?
The screen is the biggest cost: by default it turns off during the ride and Rideband keeps working. Plan on a full charge for a long day out, or keep the phone on a charger.
The connection dropped. What do I do?
Nothing: when you are back in range Rideband reconnects by itself and you hear a chime in the helmet. If it doesn’t, stop and restart the ride.
How do I restore my purchase?
Settings → Unlock Rideband → Restore purchase, with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with.
How do I delete my data?
Everything is on your phone: delete rides in Routes, friends and groups in Friends, or remove the app to delete everything.
